This was my first U2 concert, and I have been a fan ever since my dad, who's originally from Northern Ireland, introduced me to them a few years back. I'd have to say that this was probably one of the most amazing concerts I have ever been to! Bono sings so well live that hearing U2's songs in person beats listening to it on a CD; he never misses a beat & never runs out of breath. I was probably part of one of the yongest group's there, being 17 and only seeing a couple other kids that looked my age, but I've never been in a arena of 20,000 people who came together for each and every song, even the nosebleed section where I was sitting was up for every single song.
My favorite parts of the show would have to be:
City of Blinding Lights as the opener - I remember watching the music video and getting excited to attend the concert - and when they sang that I felt like I was in the video!
I loved Sunday Bloody Sunday, I could hear everyone singing it.
Where the Streets Have No Name - that's my favorite U2 song ever and the opening chords got everyone in the crowd pumped.
THe times where everyone in the crowd chanted, "but i still havent found what i'm looking for" and the very last song at the end of the encore, i have never heard that song before but i caught on and sang with the rest of the 20000 people!
At one point, I can't remember the song, but the stage lights became very bright and lit up the whole arena, and if you looked around, there was not one person who wasn't out of their seat with their hands waving in the air. It was something I've never seen at any concert - soo awesome.
Last but not least, when Bono asked if anyone owned cell phones, and within seconds the arena was glowing with at least 10,000 or more cell phones. That looked awesome!
Overall, beign a young U2 fan, I loved this concert & really can't wait til my next opportunity to go to another concert!!
