Well, I'm writing a review of a show that I saw close to 20 years ago. I'm glad the set list was listed as I'm sure I would have missed something after all this time.
What I recall from this show was the energy and passion of it. I recall The Alarm being a great opening act and being very impressed with them. I can remember Bono giving a maximum effort performance that evening; imploring us all to listen to what he had to say and doing it with an urgency that demanded our attention.
I knew that I liked what I heard - a lot. But I had no idea that nearly 20 years later, I would still look at this band, love what I hear, and be amazed at the way they move me.
They left everything on the stage that night as they worked their arses off to make a difference. It's great to see them come full circle on the Elevation tour and do the same thing again to reclaim their crown as the best rock band in the world in a world that can use a band, or anybody, that gives a damn.
How long must we sing this song?
