This was my first U2 show in 18 years and it was well worth the wait! I was lucky enough to get scanned into the ellipse and, with my new line buddies (hi Kent & Rachel!), staked out a spot in front of Adam for the show.
The show was amazing. The guys were all in top form -- Bono did sound a little scratchy, but still gave it his all, and it was so much fun to see him yelling "Come on!" to get people reacting. I was not remotely disappointed by the setlist, especially when "Gloria" started. The band was full of energy and the audience gave it back a thousandfold. "Until the End of the World" was amazing. Also incredible to hear were the snippets of Beatles songs. "Norwegian Wood" sounded great with just Bono accompanying himself, and "Instant Karma" really had everyone bouncing at the end.
Aside from the fight that broke out next to me, this was the best show I've ever been to. Thank you, U2, for giving me the concert experience of a lifetime.
