Vertigo II
The band *almost* played "40" at the end, edge and adam went so far as to exchange instruments and sides of the stage. At the last possible second before the song started, Bono changed his mind, whispered to the edge, the instruments were exchanged back, and then the band launched into Vertigo again instead. I think it was because the vibe of the crowd was calling for something a little more high energy than "40," but that is just speculation on my part.
This was also the first concert (that I can remember) where Bono DIDN'T mention playing at Uncle Sam's (what is now First Ave.) The band was very impressed with the energy of the crowd and Bono was speechless/awestruck a few times during the night by it.
Awesome night!
