Been 30 years since seeing them on March 23, 1985 (Detroit). Performance in 1985 was superb as we were all 30 years younger. This Chicago crowd was pretty good and had decent energy. Big downer on arrival to find out Ticketmaster had the seating chart reversed when tickets were purchased! Seats near the end turned out to be partially obstructed view and behind stage but were sold full price. Sound was loud but there was some distortion. Larry's drum sounded too tinny on Sunday Bloody Sunday and Edge's guitar was too high pitched during Bad. New material is good, favorite one was Cedarwood Road and liked hearing Invisible. Songs that stood out were Until the End of the World, Even Better Than the Real Thing, Pride, Streets and One. Best one for me though, Out of Control. Really glad to hear that one and it made the show for me.
Could be my expectations were too high. Since the '85 show was sooooo good, that is the main reason I have never attended a show since '85. Also, would rather see a band in an arena over a stadium (but did have some regret not going to MSU stadium a few years ago). I was really glad to see them back in an arena.
