What a show!!! First time for U2 in Portugal for 11 years (since the mithic 82 concert in Vilar de Mouros, a summer festival). No great surprises in the line up, but a excitement to see 65.000 singing every word to every song. The band realised that the minute they got on stage. Edge smiled at the fans and at Bono trought the entire show. Bono had to stop singing for a dozen times because the crowd was just to rowdy. The Alvalade Stadium (a large enclose bowl-like structure with great acoustics) enhance the already deafending singing of the audience. Bono asked a girl called Maria to join him in a dance, it was her birthday, so everybody sang Happy Birthday. The phone call was to call a taxi, the girl 'hang up on the last rock star'. There are mp3 to this gig on www.u2portugal.com (very bad recording tough).
