It was a gorgeous day weather wise and myself and some mates travelled from Waterford by train. Given that the train had to go to Limerick Junction and then on to Cork we might have walked there quicker. The Dubliners were great crack and UB40 played a blinding set, I will always remember the plastic bottles being thrown into the air before U2 hit the stage. They came on to stand by me and I think it caught the crowd by surprise. I was about 12 meters from the front on Adams side and caught a great pic of him wearing a hat belonging to a member of St Johns Ambulance.
The sound was perfect the band really seemed to let go on the night and you could see they were enjoying it. Exit and out of control were the stand out songs of the night. It was my third time seeing them as I had seen them in Croke Park in 85 and the Phoenix park in 83. I have seen every tour since and can't wait for July 25th 09.
Richard.
