Backdoor was a concert venue inside San Diego State University's Aztec Center. It was designed it be a bowling alley but became a coffee house and its artist bookings grew to host such acts as Jimmy Buffet, Patti Smith, Bad Radio (w/ Eddie Vedder), Tom Waits, the cranberries, Jane's Addiction, REM, Guns N' Roses, and others. The San Diego Union-Tribune and SDSU NewsCenter paid homage to Backoor's significance when it closed in 2011. The venue's famous rock n' roll aztecs mural has been relocated to SDSU Library.
Backdoor was located in the Aztec Center which was located at 5500 Campanile Drive in San Diego, California.
