U2 has performed 4 times in Estadio Nacional. Those performances included unique songs and an overall total of 66 songs.
Estadio Nacional is located in Santiago, Chile
Opening as Estadio Nacional in 1938, Estadio Nacional Julio Martinez Pradanos is the national stadium of Chile. It was renamed in honor of a sports journalist in 2008.
It has hosted many notable football matches including several during the 1962 FIFA World Cup.
Following the coup that ousted President Salvador Allende, Estadio Nacional was used as a detention center. More than 12,000 people were detained within the stadium over the course of several months with a reported number of 7,000 being held at one time. Survivors testified that many people were tortured and executed inside the stadium during that period.
Since 1989, the stadium has hosted many large outdoor concerts including the U2 PopMart, Vertigo, 360, and Joshua Tree 2017 tours.
