Adam Clayton is honored with the Stevie Ray Vaughan Award at the 13th annual MusiCares MAP Fund benefit concert in New York City. The award is given "in recognition of his dedication and support of the MusiCares MAP Fund as well as his commitment to helping others with the addiction recovery process," according to the MusiCares announcement.
The two-hour event features numerous artists including The Lumineers, Macy Gray, Jack Garratt and others performing a mix of U2 songs and other tunes. U2 eventually takes the stage together for a brief, 3-song set. Bono sings bits of "Happy Birthday" and "Three Little Birds" in honor of Island Records founder Chris Blackwell, who's in the audience and will later present Adam with his award.
The evening ends with Adam's award presentation and a short speech.
