U2 has performed 692 concerts featuring songs from All That You Can't Leave Behind.
All That You Can't Leave Behind was the tenth studio album released as U2. The album was released on October 30, 2000. Recording sessions for the album began in 1998 with Eno and Lanois in Hannover Quay studios in Dublin. Bono's involvment in the Jubillee 2000 campaign, and later in the Million Dollar Hotel project resulted in delays in recording of the album, and the album wasn't finished until early 2000. The album was primarily recorded in studios around Dublin, and at the bands houses in the South of France. Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois are the producers of the album, and also collaborated on the songs.
During the recording of the album, Bono had his laptop stolen which contained the lyrics for the album. The laptop was swiftly recovered, but the incident brought up memories of the loss of the lyrics during the recording of the October album.
In total four singles were released from All That You Can't Leave Behind. The opening single was "Beautiful Day" released ahead of the album. "Walk On" was the second single in North America, while "Stuck in a Moment You Can't Get Out Of" was chosen for Europe and the rest of the world. "Elevation" was the third single released, and was tied into the promotional campaign for the Tomb Raider movie release. The version of "Elevation" released was a remix of the album track. The final single was the reverse of the second single, and North America got "Stuck in a Moment You Can't Get Out Of" and Europe and the rest of the world got "Walk On", complete with new videos for both.
The album debuted at #1 in 32 countries. It failed to reach the #1 spot in the United States, instead charting at #3. All That You Can't Leave Behind and its singles won seven Grammy awards over two years, The album itself won "Best Rock Album" at the 2002 awards.
