Comments: U2 plays just its second concert ever in the state of Nebraska, the first one happening late in the Vertigo tour in December 2005. The band doesn't stop to greet fans on the way in to the arena. Brian Murphy, Bono's security guard, tells fans that the band is running late and going inside to work on new material. It's not clear if that means new songs, or something new for the tour.

Aside from that concert, Bono has made a few appearances singing at various events in Nebraska, usually in relation to the Buffett family. Like Bono, Omaha's Susan Buffett is on the board of directors of the ONE Campaign. And she's the recipient of tonight's "right in front of you" shoutout in "Beautiful Day."

Bono makes several references during the show to the day's rainy weather in Omaha.

The main set is two songs shorter than most shows so far this tour. "Red Flag Day" (or an equivalent song usually played in the first seven songs of the show) is dropped, as is "Raised By Wolves," which had been played at every show this tour except St. Louis. With this change, tonight's show totals 24 songs and is the shortest of the tour so far.

After "Acrobat," Bono's "mirror" speech as he removes his MacPhisto makeup is like a call home to Ali. Tonight, he confesses that he's missing his son Eli's graduation.

Bono gives a brief speech before "13" and dedicates the song to the victims of the shooting a day earlier at Santa Fe High School outside Houston. "We're confused about this gun stuff," he says. "You've got to look at this and find a compromise and figure it out. We believe in you to find it."
