Comments:

Photographer and filmmaker Anton Corbijn met U2 at this show. He was resistent to work with the band, but agreed watch a couple of songs. When the SS President set sail up the Mississippi, Corbijn was forced to stay for the whole show. By the time they returned to port, U2 and Corbijn had formed a friendship that would lead to many collaborations including the Joshua Tree album cover, the original "One" video, and the film "Linear" which accompanied No Line On the Horizon.

During an appearance by Bono and the Edge on the Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2018, Ellen revealed that she was also on the riverboat for this show and that it was her first U2 concert.

"Westminster Quarters" refers to the traditional melody used by clock bells to denote quarter-hour increments. The Edge plays the melody for the half-hour chime on album version of "11 O'Clock Tick Tock," but he also played it during "The Ocean" on many October tour dates.
