Comments:

Prior to U2 taking the stage at the opening night of the Joshua Tree tour, concert promoter Barry Fey reads a statement on behalf of U2 regarding then Arizona governor Evan Mecham's cancelation of the Martin Luther King holiday. This speech can been seen in the Outside It's America documentary chronicling the spring leg of the Joshua Tree tour.

Bono has voice trouble due to the hot desert air, and repeatedly asks the audience to help him sing. The second Arizona show, originally scheduled for April 3rd is pushed back a day to give Bono a day to rest his voice.

"I Still Haven't Found," "Bullet The Blue Sky" and "Running To Stand Still" are performed live for the first time.

The outro music played over the PA at the end of the concert is "Rowena's Theme" from The Edge's soundtrack to the film Captive.
