U2 return to the Buffalo area for the first time since the Vertigo tour in 2005 and their first stadium show in the area since the original Joshua Tree tour in 1987.
With no curfew in place, U2 take the stage later than normal. “New Years Day” features the lyric change to “…under a blood red moon.”
Bono references John Lennon and The Beatles throughout the night featuring snippets from “Give Peace A Chance,” “Come Together” and “Helter Skelter” as well as mentioning playing Buffalo on the night John Lennon was killed on their very first tour of the US.
Later, U2 superfan, Sil, is brought on stage during “Mysterious Ways” to dance with Bono for her birthday. The night closes with a rare snippet of “Drowning Man” at the end of “One.”
