“The first time was 1981," Bono says upon taking the stage, referencing the band’s first concert on Long Island back on the October tour.
During “I Will Follow” a fan hands Bono a letter that asks if he can be in the band.
Before, “40,” Bono thanks the crowd and local radio station, WLIR, who was a major proponent of the band since their first album.
“Be gentle with them,” Bono says as security takes away several fans who rush the stage during "40."
Bono changes the lyrics to the “Do They Know It’s Christmas” snippet to:
“…let them know it’s Easter time…”
