Search Tips

This page is a great way to dig through U2's concert history. What follows is a set of tips designed to help you find what you're looking for.

How This Search Works

1.) This search form will search for ALL parameters you choose on the form. For example: if you choose "Zoo TV - 1st leg" and "1980" your search will produce no results. Use common sense.

2.) All fields except "Keywords" will try to "autocomplete" your search. In other words, if you begin to type "lon," the form will show you "Barcelona," "London" and any others with those letters in the same order.

3.) City: In some cases, cities are listed in their local spelling. We are working to correct the inconsistencies. If you find errors, please email us at webmaster ... at ... u2tours ... dot ... com.

"Keyword" Search Field

The "Keyword" field will search the "Comments" field of our database. This is where we typically list noteworthy facts about a particular show, such as

  • any well-known guest performers who may have joined U2 on stage
  • shows which had any unusual incidents, such as the PopMart Lemon breaking down!
  • etc.

General "Keyword" Search Tips

  1. Don't enter quotation marks when searching.
  2. Don't use boolean expressions such as AND or OR. Every word you enter on the form will be included in your search.
  3. Make sure your spelling is correct.
  4. The search form and database are not case-sensitive. Capital letters make no difference.

Quick Search Basics

  • You can search for just about anything
  • Enter a day or date, venue, city, country, state or even a continent
  • You can search by song or release as well
  • You can search for multiple items by placing a comma (,) between them eg. London,Wednesday returns all the concerts in London on a Wednesday
  • You can't get too carried away as song matches are done separately so you can't enter "Sunday,Sunday Bloody Sunday" to get all the times they played Sunday Bloody Sunday on a Sunday. It will instead look for concerts that match both Sunday and Sunday Bloody Sunday which would just be any concert where the song was played.
