U2 return to New Jersey for their first arena show there since the Vertigo tour in 2005. It is also the first time they have played anywhere in Jersey other than the Meadowlands in 35 years.
Reports from earlier in the day, have U2 rehearsing "Summer Of Love," but it does not make an appearance during the show. The set remains the same with the exception of "All Because Of You," which returns, in the rotating fifth spot tonight.
Tonight is the first night of this tour that Bono doesn’t name-check anyone during “Beautiful Day.”
During the band introductions before “Desire,” Bono introduces them as the "...winners of the Limerick Battle of The Bands 1978!"
“Very Hansel and Gretel, don't you think?,” says MacPhisto as he describes the current crisis going on at the US-Mexico border. Later, Bono will also reference the crisis by altering the lyrics to "Pride" to reflect what children are going through at the border.
