Comments: Instead of "Space Oddity," U2 takes the stage to a "Get On Your Boots" remix -- the Soweto Gospel Choir version -- then starts the show with "Beautiful Day." Legendary South African trumpeter Hugh Masekela joins the band for a jazzy version of "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For." But the night belongs to Nelson Mandela. It's the 21st anniversary of his first public rally after being released from prison -- a rally that happened in this same stadium. "Pride" includes a video clip from that speech, Bono mentions him several other times during the show and dedicates "Moment of Surrender" to Mandela. In light of recent international events, the video screen shows images of Egypt and Tunisia during "Sunday Bloody Sunday." The band performs "Scarlet," but Bono talks over the song instead of singing "rejoice," the song's only lyric.
