Comments: U2 resumes the U2 360 tour after a nine-month layoff that included emergency back surgery for Bono a little more than two months ago.

After the "Space Oddity" intro music, U2 plays a two-minute rock riff called "Return of the Stingray Guitar" to start the show. With the house lights remaining on -- reminiscent of the Elevation Tour -- "Beautiful Day" is the first traditional song played of the set. The band then goes into two songs from No Line On The Horizon, but only plays four songs from their most recent album during the show.

Bono sings "Happy Birthday" for Edge, who'll be 49 in two days, during band introductions. Bono and Edge debut a new acoustic song called "North Star" -- a tune that dates back at least to the How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb sessions, when Christian singer Michael W. Smith worked on it in the studio with U2. That's followed immediately by a much louder new tune called "Glastonbury," a song U2 wrote at the end of last year's U2 360 tour in North America and had hoped to play at the Glastonbury Festival in June. (A performance that was canceled due to Bono's back injury.)

Bono sings a bit of "Discotheque" at the start of the Crazy remix. "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me" is played for the first time since March 21, 1998, at the last show of the PopMart tour.

Two months removed from back surgery, Bono appears to go through the show full bore, and with no problems.
